for surfing and teaching it, so we can guarantee our surf
lessons will be the highlight of your vacation!

spirit, so you will be immersed in native

All
Dakine Surf School instructors are licensed in CPR and
life saving techniques.
Dakine
Surf School lessons are taught in the quiet town of Diamond
Head, Kailua and the North Shore. All of
these locations are some of the best in the world to learn
how to surf. Unlike such places as Waikiki and Bowls,
you will feel like you are in paradise and not trampled
by the tourist scene.
Dakine
Surf School includes yoga techniques into your daily routine.
We
have two surfing lessons per day, one at 9am and one at
12pm.
All lessons
include: a highly certified instructor, 2007-2008 NSP
Epoxy surf boards, a leash, rash guard, bottled water,
15-20 minute dry land surfing, and the rest of the time
you'll spend on the water.
Where
to meet?
You will meet up with your instructor early in the morning
at a location close to you. Once you meet up, you'll follow
your instructor in your car; however if you have a small
group, we can arrange Waikiki pick-ups.
Once
we meet up, your instructor will quickly go over the pros
and cons of the current conditions. And he will make the
decision for which beach will be the best for learning
how to surf. However, if you require bigger or smaller
waves, your instructor will more than happy to take you
where you want. We want to insure your safety, but we
also want to make surfing with Dakine Surf an unforgettable
experience!
Warning:
Due to the fact that surfing is an extreme sport, please
beware that there is a high risk of injury or death if
negligent. But to make your surfing experience safer,
only sign up to surf with us if you are a confident swimmer
and are comfortable with ocean environments.

Children under 10 require a private lesson.
A minimum of 48 HOURS notice is required to cancel any
reservation. A full refund will be paid on any reservation
canceled prior to this minimum notice. In the event of
dangerous weather or ocean conditions, we may cancel your
tour, you may choose to transfer your activity to a later
date or receive a full refund.

At the intersection stay in the lane going straight so that you're on what's called Ala Moana Blvd.
You will pass Ena Rd. Hobron Ln. Atkinson Dr. Turn Left at the next possible left. It will be into Ala Moana Beach park and is called Ala Moana Beach Park Rd, but it isn't that well marked. It is the further (2nd) entrance into Ala Moana Beach park from Waikiki area. Straight ahead will be the beach we'll use for the beach lesson time. We'll be near the first shower area (it's on the beachside of the street and has some trees surrounding it). We have big boards!
Girls Who Surf School / Kalaeloa Campgrounds Beach
Directions to Kalaeloa Beach
From the resort area, turn right onto the H-1 Freeway heading East towards Honolulu.
Take Kapolei Exit. Left at 1st light, drive down until you reach Fort Barrett Road
(Chili's Restaurant will be on left corner.).
Turn right onto Fort Barrett Road. Drive straight down to the 4-way stop.
Turn left at stop sign onto Roosevelt Street.
Turn right on Coral Sea Road.
Follow road for approximately 1 mile.
Pass Tripoli street.
Turn left onto Eisenhower (Dirt Road) to camping grounds.
We may arrange to meet you at this intersection. If not,
Drive straight on the bumpy road through the trees (Do not go on flat road to the left).
Then go left.
You will reach the sand and the ocean will be on your right hand side.
You'll see campground/parking areas on your left. Park and check in around campground #9.
