Glider Rides
Hawaii's steady trade winds and beautiful weather provide
one of the worlds best places for soaring. World soaring
duration records have been set on Oahu due to Hawaii's
ideal flying environment. Glider pilots
can stay aloft all day from a 1000 foot tow about 90%
of the year. The company has six sailplanes
and two tow planes available
for the operation and is located at Dillingham
Airfield on the North Shore of Oahu. They
operate from a 9,000 foot runway 2,000 feet from the base
of the Waianae Mountains everyday from 10 AM to 5:30 PM.
They provide free ground
transportation for our customers every day from any Waikiki
hotel to Dillingham Airfield.Our pickup happens every
morning at 9:00 AM returning customers by 2:00 PM.
If
there is a family member or friend who wants to ride along
in their van but who does not want to fly, the cost of
the extra-ride-along is $25 per person. Children
under 5 years of age are free.It
takes our ground shuttle about one hour to drive from
Waikiki to Dillingham Airfield.
THE
RIDE:
Two
passenger scenic rides (with passengers sitting side by
side) are available for those who would
like to share our Sailplane Ride experience together.
The
2 passenger Scenic
"Waimea Bay and Mount Kaala" ride attracts those
couples (often honeymoon couples) who want to experience
the ride together in our Schweizer 2-32 sailplane. One
passenger scenic flights are also available.
One
or Two Passenger(s) with pilot in SGS 2-32. Take a scenic
sailplane ride along Oahu's world famous North Shore up
to Waimea Bay. Or, take a scenic flight to Mount Kaala,
Oahu's highest mountain. Experience the thrill
and serenity of soaring, silently flying
with only the whispering sound of the winds outside the
cockpit. You can view the lush Waianae Mountains, rugged
cliffs, coral reefs, and breaking surf. Depending
on the length of the ride and the weather conditions,
you will see most of the island of Oahu, including Pearl
Harbor, Diamond Head and Honolulu. Maximum weight for 1 or 2 passengers is 350lbs.

adventurous. Strap on a parachute and
climb into the cockpit along with an experienced aerobatics
instructor. You'll be flying in an aerobatic
sailplane that is built stronger then most W.W.II fighter
planes. Take a look at the world from
a whole new perspective, upside down. Feel up to 4 G's
pushing you into your seat. You decide how
many aerobatic maneuvers and what kind of ride you want.
