Here what our guests had to say about Kauai       Sport Fishing Tours   Six of my family members also went for a 4 hour fishing trip on the Kai Bear. THey caught 2-7ft marlins a 150 lb tuna and a a 50 lb. mahi mahi. So you can't beat that. We are still talking about the trip and passing around the 70 photos that were shot on the Kai Bear that day. The captain gave our family the mahi mahi and we took it to the Hyatt where we were staying and the chef at the Tidepools fixed it in 4 different ways and served it the next night at my family's 50th anniversary celebration. I have never experienced so much fun and excitement on a fishing trip and I’ve been on more than a few. Of course those were on the coast of Washington where the weather and water are a whole lot colder and a whole lot rougher. I spoke to my sister (she and her husband are BIG fishers) about our trip and she was green with envy but delighted that we had such a good day and even more ecstatic that I didn’t get sea sick (and had such a great time). I f ever Ralph and I should get back to Kauai I’m sure we will look you up again. Even if we don’t catch 42 tuna you’re a great entertainer and an even better captain. Your "backyard" is gorgeous ;) We appreciate your efforts "above and beyond" in getting fish on the boat, and realize that fishing is fishing (if we could shoot fish in a barrel it wouldn't be nearly as cool), and some days are better than other. I also enjoyed watching you and Chilo (?) work together to make things happen - nice work! Gotta tell you the Ahi we caught made excellent sushi and bbq and the Wrasse was sweet and tender, if bony with rubber for skin! We also appreciate your patience while herding cats with a bunch of newbies. Reckon we'll be a bit more proficient next year! Even though he was seasick, he bounced back quickly and we went boogie boarding in the afternoon. He was even talking about the “next time we go fishing…” Plus, I BBQ’D the tuna (olive oil, pepper and lemon) and it was delicious. A big hit with the rest of the family. Cheers, Keith RETURN Captain J, I hope you have been having as much success as we did on Tuesday morning the 10th of June. I was sore for three days due to the exciting continous action of catching fish. I have attached pictures of our day. Mahalo, Jerry RETURN I went out with Capt. J on the Big Ta Do in Kauai for four hours this morning and had one of my best days of fishing. We were on the spot before anyone else, and pulling in fish within the first hour. Around 9am a few other charters trolled by, probably told their patrons "there's no fish here" and kept moving. We had fish hitting all morning. As a single person on the charter I was busy the whole time. Capt. J fished with me while his crewman drove the boat. We didn't just troll around for 4h. We used at least 5 different strategies to land the fish, constantly evaluating the bite and adapting to the conditions. No monsters today, just a dozen or so good fighting 10-15 pound yellowfin and a half a dozen skipjack. 18 fish in 4h plus the 4 others including a 10 foot shark that we fought to the boat made for a good morning. I'd recommend Capt. Jude and DeepSeaFishingKauai.com any day of the week. I would ONLY fish with THESE guys when I come back. I don't know how to upload the photos yet, but I got some good pics for any prospective Kauai charter fisherpeople. Feel free to contact me if you are heading to Kauai, these guys seem to catch fish while the others watch or motor away with their props between their legs. KW RETURN
