The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named /Hapuna/ or /Spring of Life/ in the Hawaiian language. There is so much to see and experience at the Hapuna Beach Hotel. You can be busy from morning to night, or if you choose you can relax and soak in the rays on the long white sand beach. The Hapuna Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course nestled in the dramatic natural contours of the land from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. The course offers spectacular views of the Kohala coast and the Pacific Ocean while majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kohala Mountains form the backdrop. In addition, guests may also elect to play at the world famous Mauna Kea Golf course, rated one of the best courses in the state. The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is located on the beach - rated the "Number one beach in America" by conde Nast Traveler, Hapuna Beach is a long stretch of pristine white sand. There is a little cove nearby where the waters are sheltered and clear. On any given day, giant sea turtles may drop in for a visit. Otherwise, it's the perfect place for swimmers and snorkelers to explore at their leisure. Adjacent to Hapuna, in front of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is Kauna'oa Bay considered by many to be the island's single most picturesque beach. Crescent-shaped with pure white sands and shimmering aqua waters, it is perfect for water sports including swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, catamaran riding, whale watching and deep-sea fishing. Even at night, guests step onto a circular lava outcropping overlooking the bay, to watch the manta rays swim beneath.

Arnie's Light Spa luncheons and hearty American fare are served at Arnie's Restaurant in the clubhouse. Beach Bar A snack bar by the pool featuring lunch and early afternoon snacks. Seafood Fest Open Friday-Tuesday from 1630-2100. Casual open-air dining features fresh seafood items. Splash at Hapuna is coming! Effective March 1st, the hottest new nightclub on the Kohala Coastline featuring live music and dancing six nights a week opens to the public!! Splash at Hapuna will be open Monday through Saturday from 8:30pm till 12:30am nightly, and closed Sunday. Splash at Hapuna will showcase some of the island's top entertainment acts such as Z Force, Azure McCall, Pauline Wilson, Merge, and many more exciting venues. The music mix will feature top 40's, contemporary, disco, jazz and a multitude of island sounds. Chef Corey has put together an exciting munchies menu to complement all the great beverages which will be served. There will be a 5.00 USD cover charge per person nightly.
